“Global Democracy,” Neocon Style

The dictator Musharraf of Pakistan must be a former “Lincoln Fellow” at the Claremont Institute. More likely, the U.S. government probably dispatched a Claremontista to advise him on how to go about destroying constitutional goverment in his country — by quoting precedents set by Abe Lincoln.

When Musharraf announced he was “suspending” his constitution and establishing a dictatorship a few months ago, he did indeed “justify” it by saying that the sainted Lincoln did the same thing, therefore it must be OK. Here’s what he said:

“Lincoln . . . broke laws, he violated the Constitution, he usurped arbitrary power, he trampled individual liberties. His justification was necessity. . .”

He forgot to mention that he also micromanaged a war that murdered some 350,000 fellow citizens, but that’s also supposed to be kosher because, well, he was Abe Lincoln. And even though he was a non-believer, he quoted the Bible to justify it all. So there.

A wise man once said that political pleas of “necessity” are the ways of the tyrant and the credo of the slave.

    Abe Lincoln was a neo-con.

This article is just cheap heat.

I am so glad to see history being exposed at last regarding the trampling of agrarian people, personal liberty and states rights in the name of industrial revolution and monopoly of power. As a US person of Southern extraction, I can tell you that it was absolutely disheartening and exhausting to grow up in the north with an ACLU or ADL pat phrase for everything on everyone’s tongue and in everyone’s heart. They meant well but just had never taken responsibility to look beyond propaganda. They had never read any history nor researched the matter of the war between the states…they just watched a few fictional films and listened to their masters at school about how superior they were to the south for “freeing the slaves”…..right…and they loved to look down on Southern and Appalachian people for their “ignorance”…

AMEN, AND GO, THOMAS! Fake conservatives even existed back in Lincoln’s day, the “Federalists”. Yes, they were fairly right-on in the Federalist Papers, but it was all down hill after that, just as Federalists became “Republican/Conservatives” and original Republicans became “Democrats”, both went downhill fast in seeing how quickly they could slowly but surely sell us out while pulling the “carpetbagger’s” wool over our eyes, which unfortunately worked all too well as we can more than clearly see today. But so many people have come to accept so much of it because it was brought in a bit at a time, and quite a lot of it in stealth and secrecy.

Such as setting up and using the “Council on (Get Us Involved in) Foreign [Entanglements and Influence(s)] Relations (CFR) to step by step secretly, stealthfully and steadily, over a long, patient period of time, bring in the “United Nations”; worldwide militarized-policing; U.S. Imperialism, “nation building”, multinational corporate monopoly and military protection, hegemony, and hubris; global U.S. government sponsored terrorism, endless war, and obscenely huge profit-making off mass death, maiming and misery in the multi-millions of innocent people; destroying the U.S. republic, its sovereignty and its liberties, and turning all of it and the entire world into a authoritarian/totalitarian militarized police, prison and slave state; the “New World Order”; One-World Government (aka the “One-World Order”); and One-World Religion. The final steps or stages are being implemented right now to enslave and destroy us all. The “Endgame”.

American children have, for generations, been conditioned to admire a historically false image of President Lincoln. Lincoln, a known bigot, tyrant and perhaps one of the most evil men ever to occupy the White House to those that are historically knowledgeable is the current poster boy for the NeoCons…just as he has been for similar groups (almost all of them Marxist) in the past ( see ‘Lincoln Brigades’ in the Spanish Civil war,for example)…so it is more than an interesting coincidence that Pervez Musharraf of Pakistan chose this uniquely American symbol to justify his actions (and a symbol which would mean practically nothing in his part of the world)….There is a big stink here, Mr. DiLorenzo, and you are clearly onto it…

Just to let you know, Lincoln was not as bad as you think. True he did massive work to take away some freedoms and impose martial law, but there was also a war with a new country that simply broke away because they were afraid of the President’s policies if and when he would be elected President. All he wanted is to have a united front and he had to fight a war to get it. In that process, Lincoln freed the slaves which wasn’t high on his agenda when he ran for President, and he created money without interest through the US Treasury while the south got support from the Rothchild family and got nothing but worthless cash out of that deal.

The same Rothchild from England who swindled money from the stock market during the Napoleonic war? What a great person.

It’s not for me to judge Linoln, tho it is hard sometimes. G-d will do that. I admit however that any politian that attacks our Rights most likely
is a Tyrant. Christ said. “You shall know a Tree by It’s fruits”.

  8. DrB on December 30th, 2007

I thought the Rothchilds were funding both sides of the Civil War (like most wars) and charging Lincoln usurious rates which is why he unilaterally decided to print his own money (”the Greenbacks”) anyway. He also let it be known after the war he would stop dealing with the international bankers and continue having the government print it’s own money, which is why he had to be assassinated.

Actually I thought he was defending the principal that you Americans rebelled against the tyrant King George III that was written into your declaration of Independance, All men are created equal under God.

That seems to be the one principal that the bullshit system wants to overthrow so if Lincoln sacrificed some liberties for the greatest of liberties I think he did a good job.

In the words of Thomas Jefferson

Those that are will to trade Freedom for security, shall not have, nor do they deserve either one.

You know, when I think of someone using a quote from Lincoln, I know he’s only using a half truth, then again maybe a quarter truth, how about a 16th truth, or maybe just a 10th truth ? To compare Pakistan’s problems with the Civil War of the United States, is ridiculous….not enough money & technology to compare it with. Go where the money goes and you’ll see the REAL truth !

INterestingly enough, most,oh,heck, all black people I know love Lincoln for bringing about the freedom of the slaves in 19th century America. They actually think of him today as more of a Democrat than a Republican.
