Cops Harass San Francisco Ron Paul Supporters

Conservative Heritage Times
January 3, 2008

Here is a blurb that accompanied the e-mail.

We were peaceably assembled on New Years Day, riding the San Francisco Cable Car from Fisherman’s Wharf to Union Square downtown carrying Ron Paul signs, when the SFPD was called, and the “officer” told us to hand over our signs, or we wouldn’t go anywhere. We asked what law we were violating, and he said he didn’t have to tell us, “I am the Law”, he said.

San Francisco’s Channel 5 ran a segment on the 11 pm news.

If you ask what law you are allegedly violating is there no requirement for the police officer to tell you? Does the cop really not have to answer? “I am the Law.” What a bunch of BS that is. A person is not the law. If this is true, that “cop” should lose his badge. Perhaps they were violating some ordinance about not hanging out the window with signs or something like that. Who knows? If so, tell them. “Do it because I said so” just doesn’t cut it.

There is no such thing as a Wrong Paul supporter doing ANYTHING peaceably. I no longer care about the election, as long as Paul and every member of his spamming, vote-rigging, fraud-committing, thieving army is hunted down like dogs.

  2. Ted on January 3rd, 2008

    You hunt dogs?

Obviously, your comment shows your true follow-the-leader mentality. Anyone who cannot espouse a well-thought opinion doesn’t have the mental acuity to recognize integrity.

  3. Torquewrench1969 on January 3rd, 2008

    Here is a possibility:

If the trolly is privately owned, they can ask you to dispose of the signs. If you don’t, they can have the cops forcibly remove you.

But if it is publicly owned, then they have no legal right to do so, if you’re doing it in a peacable manner.

As a former cop, the answer “I am the Law” is completely unacceptable.

I quit being a cop because of having to work with people that had such attitudes.

  4. Benja S. Sariwatta on January 3rd, 2008

Someone needs to setup a lawfirm that sues individuals in government that abuse their power. Suing the government does nothing but take away our own tax money. Sue the individual out of house and home will work much better. That policeman needs to be sued for everything he owns.

I remember several years ago on the A&E channel they had a programe about police in NYC. Very interesting, and I would love to find a copy of it somewhere like YouTube.

I showed that less than 25% of the pigs in NYC could pass the psyche exam, that means that 75% did not. That is scary, 3/4 of them have ISSUES! Don’t screw with the pigs, they are messed up people that will…….

    Fed Up,

Just because people want to choose a candidate that is not one of the media’s spoon fed pre-determined front runners doesn’t mean you have to get hostile.

I can understand lemmings like yourself rejecting the concept the democratic process in action - the idea of a simple man with love for the country sharing his ideas / beliefs plainly and openly…and people liking it. It must irritate party line robots like yourself that Mr. Paul is has a pretty strong following despite the hit pieces and lack of fair coverage. He speaks his mind with the tax paying citizens and the constitution as his first priority people like it. What a novel idea. He is doing it without the help of international corporate / banking interests, without teacher’s unions, etcetera. Just people…you remember, right? The people …of the people, by the people…that kind of thing.

You may not like the fervor of Ron Paul supporters but that is your problem. You may also buy into the picture the media is trying to paint of Ron Paul supporters. Again…your problem. A portion of any group are knuckleheads.
(see blind followers of global warming initiative).

And then there is the criticism of Mr. Paul’s idea of pulling the troops. Here’s a thought. Let’s say we pull the troops and it doesn’t work. Let’s say Mr. Paul were wrong. It seems to me that the federal government and the two parties are more than happy to spend the money on the war as long as there are sufficient pork filled earmarks , so we could always go back if need be.

By the way, Mr. Fed, you need to add a few more appointments for the anger management group to your calendar.

We know your a shill but you better send your handlers back the money they gave you for being such a good bootlicker because your doing a crappy job but if your really good they will let you give Bush a blowjob and a rimmer isn’t that nice?

  14. Mr. Hosed on January 3rd, 2008

I’m not entirely sure what I would do in the situation above, but a boot to the neck of the so called “law” would be VERY fricken tempting.

Fortunately, in Montana, the police are fairly honest and good people. Hell, I pulled out in front of an Officer once (couldn’t see him and it was very late at night) and rather then run me through and ticket me, he pulled me over to warn me to be more careful. Hell, didn’t even ask for my registeration or proof of insurance, etc.

It amazes me how many “peace” officers never learned the adage, “Respect is earned, not given.”

    To Torquewrench1969: “The Retired Cop”

Answering any lawful question with “I am the law” stands against EVERYTHING YOU BECAME A COP FOR!! Watch how this works:

The Government passed down “laws”, thoes laws are passed threw your supreme court, then they are pushed to the cops. By saying you are the law, puts that cop above all of the whole due process you are supposed to be upholding.

When a cop tasers a guy, the public says “OMG WHY WAS HE TASERED!”, cops on the other hand say “Well there are crazy people out there, I have to keep safe”. See the disconnect you currently have with soceity? In fact, most of cops have this disconnect. Cops feel that they are the law, because they inforce it. That right there, makes you a dictator in your own right, which in turn KILLS your country.

So here is a thought to you sir, next time see it in a way that “wow if my kids had to go threw what these people are” you might actually see the problem with your attitude with people saying “this is why i retired”. In fact, you did your country a service by retiring, cops who think they know everything needs to be fired, because you can’t grow a soceity with an attidude like yours…..

Oh, I guess this is why your country hasn’t have had any advancements in the last.. ooohh i dont know, 40 years!

YOU AND YOUR GANG OF COPS needs a reality check, or you yourself might face problems in the future. So help your cops understand that the people aren’t mad at YOU or even YOUR job, it’s the laws you enforce that they have a problem with.

    WAKE UP!

It’s time to come to the realization that protest and assembly peacefully has run it’s course. Now is the time to organize, arm up and act. If that doesn’t happen and soon, we will all just go into the night quietly. Remember this, there are many more of us then them. I know that this sounds extreme, but, imagine trying to pull it all together when its to late, very diffacult.

  24. kevin hill on January 3rd, 2008

Torquewrench I get what you are saying, unlike some others who have posted here. Everyone has to work with people with bad attitudes but we really need police officers like You that are rational and reasonable. I work in retail and even there I know people who are on petty power trips, I can’t imagine how prevelent it probably is in law enforcement. I would urge other police officers who see this and are as disgusted by it as we are, not to give up. More than ever we need people in law enforcement that respect the rule of law, and understand that they are there to protect freedom not limit it.

The problem with being a good cop was underlined for me when a friend who had been a cop for most of her life told me that she was to be killed. I asked by who? She said it would be someone in the police department and soon. I asked what I could do to help and she said do nothing or you will be next. Three days later she reportedly shot herself in the head multiple times with a .357 mag. It was ruled suicide.

The cop should be charged with violation of Title 42 section 1983 ACTING UNDER COLOR OF LAW. The punishment includes the DEATH PENALTY. Any cop that acts like this should be dragged through the courts on this charge. ….and hopefully the punishment of execution will be carried out. If not, it will still ruin his cop career. It’s time to use the LAW to go after these corrupt New World Order PIGS.

  28. SharpSteve on January 3rd, 2008

New Years Eve Ron Paul March in Detroit had a similar incident when we were told we could not “Protest”.

First a cop asked if I and a girl from the local Ron Paul meet-up were waiting on a corner to find the rest of the group and we were asked by a cop if we we protesting. we told him No we were just waiting for our friends to show up.

Then, after the group arrived we were walking through downtown and stopped to take some pics and video in front of a local monument. A cop stopped and got out of a van and told us we could not Protest. When we tried to explain that we were not protesting, but just walking around with our signs canvassing downtown Detroit for our candidate. The cop said “If your carrying a sign your protesting. Now I need someone’s Name”. We asked if was illegal to walk around carrying a sign. “Yes it is. I need a name” When we asked if he could show us the law? “NO, I just need a someone to give my their name”. Could he tell us the code or name of such law? “NO, I just need a someone to give my their name”. Who could tell us? “Go to City Hall. I need someone to give my their name”. Could you take us there now and show us? “NO the are closed. I need a name”. Is it available on the Internet? No you need to go to City Hall. I Need a name!”. Someone in the group of around 40 gave them their name. The cop left and we marched around Detroit stopping at other well know spots.

When walking past a ice rink where there were lots of people and I was handing out Info about Ron Paul when a cop grab my shoulder from behind and said “You can’t do that”. I can’t do what I asked. “You can’t hand those out”. Why I asked. “Because you can’t.” I just kept walking with the group. We continued on our way handing out lit and waving signs for around 3 hours. Our chant Of WHO DO WE WANT? RON PAUL! WHAT DO WE WANT? FREEDOM! got louder after each run in with the cops.

  29. Stvye on January 3rd, 2008

I can’t waste time reading all the right wing-nut responses that you got, but I will say that you should have gotten a badge number, his 41, and told him that you would be presenting the evidence to City Council. We are preparing to wage war with the local rentacops in Portland, OR, who are saying that a public square is private property, where they can dictate that no bullhorns or drums be used. We do a weekly march on Friday eves, originating in said square.

Call Aaron Peskin for some advice on what to do…I used to live in SF, and you should also talk to Code Pink, which is very active there.

Good luck and thanks for fighting the good fight! Paul would end the war and call for a new investigation of the events of 911…he is sharp, he lacerated Tim Russert to a the point that Russert said that RP would beat all other Rep. candidates.

Fed-Up, more like “F’ed up”. If i had to be you for 5 mins, i’d be “fed up” too. I’m not sure which propaganda outlet gave you your false info regarding Ron Paul supporters, but violent they certainly are not.
See how angry you are? You are a direct product of Fox News propaganda. Fox News should be outlawed and taken off the airwaves because it is harmful to true American citizens. It’s like a government sanctioned head pill equivalent to that of Paxil or Zoloft, if not taken properly it can make a crazy person even crazier…same with fox News; if not watched properly it can make a crazy person even crazier; Thus putting us all in danger from nutcases like Fed Up. I bet you have the lotion and kleenex ready when Bill O’Lielly comes on to stir that already pent up anger. Please, do us all and yourself a favor and commit suicide today.

Fed-up your village just called…they want their idiot back. And please, take Natasha with you. Thanks.

As far as cops go…most them can’t point out there own state on a map so you just have to treat them like the 8 year old retarded kid they act like. First of all, i never try to put myself in a position to have to deal with them, but when i do come in contact w/ them i just “dummy-up” and act like i’m hard of hearing, lol. They get so frustrated they just give up and go away. I don’t let them irritate me, because that’s what they want. They are always looking for a confrontation so they can call their buddies and gang up on you then 1-up eachother back at the station and laugh over which one had the better story with more action, etc. Most of them are cowards and wouldn’t dare say a word to you on the street and would walk away to avoid a confrontation for fear of getting his a$$ whooped because they don’t have their cop buddies around to help build their fragile ego’s up. Next time you come in contact w/ a retard, scuse me, cop… just smile and remember that you are probably much smarter than they are :)

I believe this is just another example of an assault on free speech and the police state mental state that is quickly becomig a reality. If a law or rule was violated be proffessional and tell them where they can show the signs. Its a no brainer, the officer was wrong. Another reason to vote for Ron Paul because these type of people with these kind of attitudes have been brainwashed by the current police state assault on liberty and free speech. Be nice and polite, basic rules that should have been taught to the officer when he was a child. He doesnt need a job if he cannot calmly deal with the public in a nice manner.

  40. Lode on January 4th, 2008

    natasha,
thank you so much for the link to that eye opening free pdf book about the hidden motives behind wars, as disclosed to the author by secret agents from various services. Here is the direct link to the book: http://www.hitlerwasabritishag.....-intro.pdf

To the “elite” it is said “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”
But this is the secret to real power -a power unknown to the “elite”- which when finally more generally and persistently applied by those of good will, will change the world, in a secret “psychic” way, as it is also written:
“Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you”.

Reading the pdf book makes it clear that only a miracle can change anything positively in this world. Maybe the above given divine advice when seriously applied in thought -internally- will cause such a miracle to occur. We have nothing to lose at this point…

You are right that I am fed up with the current situation. Obviously so are you. It is just that without some alternative method that has not been tried yet nothing is going to change. Everything that has been done so far -revolutions and wars- has not freed us from tyranny and dictators. New ones keep popping up like mushrooms in spring. As long as some people are ready to walk over the dead bodies of others to accomplish their goal, they will keep the rest of us in hell. What are you going to do against someone who is ready and has the military forces at his disposal to kill your beloveds in front of you unless you obey him?
I am not saying that we tell the dictators that we are blessing them. But we can telepatically tell them that they are not the evil ones they play at being on this stage, and that they have a right to come to themselves. They are in hell too. This is a psychic battle…

You are one of the very few here who deomosntrate thoughtfulness, and I very am pleased to make your acquaintance. You quoted the words of Jesus, and you did so rightly. The rest of his words make it very clear, that the end of civilization shall come as all people are deprived of their freedom, their humanity and even their very souls, within a single world goverment under the authority of The Beast. These things are forseen, as being the results of what the people of the world choose, by both their actions and innactions, and all of these things will come to pass because they refuse to change and not because they are predestined.

The few of us who can see these things with open eyes, are told to seprate themselves from the world, and we should await his return from the sky, from outside of the world system, while literally living in the wilderness.

Please click on my name, and read the message I have been given to share with the few who can accept it.

    Natasha

    PS

In the final analysis, it is the people themselves who have the power, and no government can long defy, the will of a populace both aware and determined. Our present situation is a direct result of both public ignorance and lack of resolve, which has enabled a small minority to mislead the nation, with obvious falsehoods that have imperiled the Republic.

That our newly elected Congress has defied the will of the people, by refusing to carry out it’s mandate, without suffering any real consequence for their willful failure, clearly demonstrates that the greatest danger facing our nation is not it’s leadership but it’s neglectful public, and for this reason it makes no difference who such a populace shall appoint.

As long as the public remains mislead by media and unwilling to govern themselves, our Democratic Republic shall continue to degrade, until freedom taken for granted, so absolutely, is absolutely lost.

What we now see taking place, during this Presidential election cycle, is a distressed population desperately seeking a savior. A nation divided being so clearly in grave danger, seeks not to undo what they by their own ignorance and neglect have created, but rather they seek The Leader who shall do for them. The cause of the problem goes uncorrected, and responsibility is not taken. We have seen this before. Such a clamor portends the greatest disaster, just as surely here, as it did in Germany in 1933.

    Lode, Natasha, et al:

You take what people post (threats or not) to seriously. The main thing is there’s a lot of anger in this country at where we’ve ended up and where we’re going. Obviously the approval polls of congress and the president highlight this.

Point being, most of what people are saying is rhetoric or vocalization of that anger and not to be taken seriously.

Hopefully we’ll be able to change this country for the better with-out finding out if that rhetoric is actionable.

    To everyone else:
Frankly, I’m getting tired of so many people grasping at conspiracy as their instant response. Not EVERYTHING is NWO, Jews, Bilderbeger, CFR, Neo-cons, etc. By immediatly attaching everything to these groups we give them to much credit and create a mental beast in our heads that’s becomes impossible to destroy, which just isn’t the case. In addition, we miss root causes and solutions. What allows these groups to exist, gain power, etc and how can we correct our society to prevent/destroy it in the future.

Don’t get me wrong, they have a definite “evil” agenda and push that agenda very well, but there are plenty of self-serving bastards out there that are operating completely on there own (Like the cop in the article).

  49. Lode on January 4th, 2008

I lived in the States for 7 years. Here are two of my experiences with the police:
Shortly after my arrival I drove an American girlfriend in her car to my place. It was late evening, I did not have my driver’s licence nor passport with me; no id whatsoever. Not seeing any traffic anywhere I drove about 50 miles in a 35 miles zone and did not stop for the stop signs. Suddenly a police car appeared from a side street, stopped me, one of the officers asked for my driver’s licence, and when I said I did not have it with me, told me to get out, put my hands on the roof of the car and spread my legs. He began body searching me. At my suggestion they told my girlfriend to get my licence and passport and come to the police station where they were taking me. There they took mug shots of me and my fingerprints. Once inside their office I explained that in Europe we don’t have stop signs. Unless you are on a right of way street, you stop for the car that comes from your right, and if you see no car on your right, you just keep driving. Cars coming from your left always stop for you, since you are coming from the right for them. It works perfectly. The cops were amazed. They all came sitting around and offered me coffee. Then one of them said that they thought it dumb themselves to always have to stop for stop signs in the middle of the night with no other car in sight all the way to the horizon. Then I told them that in Holland there were no speed limits on the freeways (there are now) so that the police drove Porches to be able to catch the fast ones. They loved it. By the time my girfriend walked in we were all having a great time. She couldn’t believe her eyes she told me later. They let me go without even giving me a ticket. One of them gave me his card. “Just in case a colleage of mine stops you, just tell him I am a friend of yours and show him this” he said walking us to the door.
It’s all a matter of attitude… All my later encounters ended up friendly too. Once I had not paid for a new sticker on my car that year. A police car drove slowly closer and closer behind me and finally stopped me. As I opened my window and handed the officer my licence (I had lost that other police officer’s card many years before) I said to him “As I saw you still far behind me, I was telling my girlfriend ‘I wonder if that cop behind me has such keen sight that from that distance he can see the colour of my sticker’ Well, I see you do.” He smiled, and very surprised asked “You’re not angry at me?” “Why should I be, you’re just doing your job as you think you should” I replied. Then he answered “People always get angry at me when I stop them. This is the first time that hasn’t happened.” He went to his car with my licence. When he came back he said “Don’t go to San Francisco unless you want to pay a $500 fine for an old parking ticket you never paid”. He handed me my licence and said in a friendly tone “Take care!”

Natasha, I’ll read your material, proud to be your Lode ;)
Yet let us think about this politicaly wanting to change things; how many times has that not been done before? And the end reults? Sometimes even the revolutionary leader became a dictator himself…
You are right that we should await “his return from the sky”. But where does he say that “sky” is? It is not of this world, and it is in us. Heaven is in us because there is were God is. St. Augustine writes that “heaven and earth” means “soul and body”. God is in us as our real Identity. Only by remembering that -and wanting to remember that the same goes for others- can Heaven on earth be realized.
This is the new not tried before method I am refering to. The power of this inner Kingdom is the only thing powerful enough to change the nightmare into a happy dream of awakening.
Mr. Hosed, you are right too. The more you focus on what you don’t want, the more you get of it. Better to focus on what you want, even assuming that on a certain level it is already so… Therefore I refuse to accept that the “elite” are what they seem to be, even to themselves. I insist on recognizing God in them also, no matter how disguised in a for Him morally terribly painful Beast disguise. Let my view of God coming to Himself in them manifest.

    PS:
Actually that last cop said “Don’t get cought in the city (meaning S.F.) inless you want to pay a $500 fine…”

Once I was driving with a friend and passing on a joint between us as we approached the house of another friend. Just as I was about to park the car I saw a cop car behind us. My friend quickly ate the roach. As I showed my licence to this older cop who was all by himself he asked “Where you guys smoking a joint?” “Oh no, officer”, I lied. At that moment another cop car approached from the opposite direction. “Well I guess you don’t need this then” he said, and quickly pulled the roach-clip with exotic feather from the rear view mirror and put it in his pocket. “Need any assistance, officer”, the young cop on the driver’s side (crew cut, ray-bans) asked from across the street. “No, I am fine, thank you” he answered. As the two cops drove off he said “They might not have a son who smokes pot as I do. Please be more careful will you?”

If I were told by a cop to hand over my sign, I would say “We are promoting our presidential candidate. Who is your favorite candidate?”
Smile, change the mood, change the subject. It works.

In any case, let them tell the pilots of the blimp, the helicopters, and the planes to hand over their Ron Paul signs…

    Hi Lode

I agree that there a lot of great police officers. The San Francisco PD however, is unlike anything, I mean anything, that you may have encountered before. The cop described is not at all unusual for an SFPD officer, and I have seen horrendous abuses perpetrated by them on many many occasions. In fact, far worse than described here, happens in the SF Bay Area on a daily basis. That cop was nice by SFPD standards.

There are good cops in every precinct, but unfortunately the ratio of good to bad apples, can vary widely by venue. I agree that attitude helps a lot, and a lot of people do not show proper respect, let alone gratitude, for the valuable service that police officers provide.

    Having said that.

I must say that most of those who simply hate cops, or even merely no longer respect law enforcement, are those who have themselves been, or who have witnessed their friends and loved ones being, thoroughly victimized by bad cops.

Daily such abuses occur, in full view of good cops, who do nothing to stop such misconduct. It is wrongly believed, that if the good cops step in they will undermine public confidence, because such is a display of a “cohesion deficit”. The exact opposite is true however, and the force needs to do an immediate about face on that.

Good cops should also refuse to shield bad cops from IAD/IIC and CCO, or whatever, and in fact COPS themselves should begin to rigorously police the force before all others. It is an extreme understatement, to say that bad cops undermine, public confidence in law enforcement and police effectiveness consequently.

Sadly this is not only an ongoing problem it is an increasing problem. Good cops who have long stood tall, increasingly quit the force in disgust, because they realize that they are outnumbered by bad cops, and they become convinced that things are not going to change. This is especially sad, because the less good cops there are, the worse the bad cops will behave, and justice will become even more rare than it already has become.
