Paul Finishes in Iowa Top Five, But No Room for Him on the “Debate Bus”

An article posted on the Associated Content website gets it right:

Television influences people from everything from commercials for cereal to opinionated news. Well, two stations, ABC and Fox News Channel are taking this to a whole new level. Both stated the will limit the amount of presidential candidates during their next debates. This has stirred up controversy for candidates, who are struggling in the polls including Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul.

It should stir up controversy, if not outrage, because in essence Fox and ABC are deciding who the front-runners will be. The Iowa caucus voting system, admittedly less than perfect, as of this morning has the following results for the Republicans:

Mike Huckabee - 34 per cent
Mitt Romney - 25 per cent
Fred Thompson - 13 per cent
John McCain - 13 per cent
Ron Paul - 10 per cent
Rudy Giuliani - 3 per cent

Obviously, Ron Paul, at ten percent and beating Giuliani hands-down, deserves a seat at the debates. But he will be excluded. “Fox has only asked five Republican presidential candidates to a debate that is set for Sunday in New Hampshire. These candidates include Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, John McCain, Mitt Romney, and Fred Thompson. The candidates left out are Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter. The Fox News Channel says it only has a small amount of room in the studio, which will take place in a bus,” continues Associated Content.

In other words, it does not matter that Paul beat Giuliani: he will not be asked to attend. Of course, there is a reason for this — Giuliani is an establishment candidate and Ron Paul is an outsider who talks dangerously about liberty, taxes, the Iraq “war,” and the Constitution. Since he is not reading from the establishment script, there will be no room for him on the bus.

Despite Fox’s statement about the “space issue”, some just do not believe it. Pam Ungerman an Independent voter, states, “I do not buy it. Fox News Channel does not like Ron Paul’s libertarian views. He is everything that most Republican candidates are not. Paul hates the war and does not stand for core values of Republicans. Fox should have the debate in a larger area than just a bus. What a poor excuse.” Paul is very popular among college students on various campuses. Some students are calling for viewers to not watch the Fox News Channel anymore.

Good idea, that. Now if they can only convince their voting parents to do likewise.

ABC has not determined yet about who will be allowed to participate in its next debate, but states it will decide after the Iowa caucus that takes place on January 3rd. ABC News released a statement on its website saying it has criteria for its next debate that will take place this Saturday. ABC says the candidates must have one or more of these three requirements.

And what will that “criteria” be? It’s a no-brainer, obviously. No talk about ending the Iraq occupation — or no serious talk, anyway — and certainly no talk about eliminating the IRS and returning America to an economic policy not based on funny money. Sure, the Huck talks about eliminating income taxes, but you know he really does not mean it. Like Bush’s talk about “compassionate conservatism” in the lead-up to the 2000 election, Huck’s idea — stolen from Ron Paul — will get lost along the way to November.

Associated Content concludes:

It will be a very interesting and unique debate this weekend with the remaining candidates according to ABC and the Fox News Channel. They have limited any chance of a dark horse candidate in the election. It is becoming a terrible situation when network executives are deciding who they want the American people to see on television.

Hardly surprising, as corporate executives at the behest of the ruling elite are the folks who decide who will be the next president, not the American people.

Once upon a time, a government ruled by corporations, by corporatism, was defined as the very essence of fascism. Now most of us are none the wiser.

Thus it is not shocking that a gaggle of fascists — in business suits instead of military uniforms — will be deciding who gets on the bus.

We may be too far gone down the road to serfdom and slavery. These people are running everything. The story of how these people took over everything is complicated for the most clever among us to figure out. For the average person, it’s impossible to decipher and it’s just thought of as fine that military industrial complex media runs the country.

Like Obi-Wan Kenobi, striking him down now will make him more powerful than the NWO can imagine.

I love Ron Paul and the concept of Ron Paul, but…he’s probably not going to win and it is because no one notices. We feel that why is it not that the whole world doesn’t vote for Ron Paul when you here him talk. Through their usual tactics they control the mind of the average American by controlling what they see and hear and learn.

So now as the primaries are decided and Ron Paul is faced with running independanly he’ll no likely make any more impact in actual poles than Ralph Nader did because everyone knows third party cadidates don’t exist in America. Thay havn’t for a long time and that means that America has been controlled by Facists for a lot longer than since 9/11. This era is their endgame all right. How far will it go?

I’ve been to Iowa many times & actually drove across the entire state..its like no other place in America..corn field after corn field after corn field..then you come to a rare intersection & there is a church..20 more miles & another intersection & another church..the whole state is just like this..in other words the rest of America is very much different than Iowa..the majority of people in Iowa get there marching orders from their local church..plain & simple..the orders were VOTE HUCKABEE & they obeyed..Iowa is an abnormality..that is why they moved Iowa up to the first caucus..they knew they could successfully offer Huckabee as the god fearing savior & it worked..the rest of the U.S. is very much different than Iowa & we WILL ABSOLUTELY do extremely well in NH as well as the rest of country..keep the faith..1,000% percent faith..we WILL win this battle..we are doing fantastic folks.. 10% in Iowa is an amazing finish

  8. Neville on January 4th, 2008

Not to get into insulting other candidates.
But Huckabee is a liar ‘I have a theology degree’, and is just terrible on basically all issues.
McCain sponsored the shamesty bill, that is almost high treason, definately treasonous.
Rudolph is a 9/11 criminal, it is a federal offense to disturb a crime scene, and the destruction of evidence. and he still won’t clarifiy his lie about 9/11 or about the lie on the lie.
Mitt Romney is a flip-flopper. If the Batman TV show was still on, his character name would be ‘the waffler’, but he has the financial wherewithal to create a TV persona that totally belies that fact.

Ron Paul can beat any NWO candidate thrown against him.

  11. shazar on January 4th, 2008

to win in iowa, a politician has to promise to continue farm subsidies. ron paul won’t say that and yet 10% of iowans voted for ron paul despite his policies toward their main income stream. it is actually amazing he got 10%, thats a huge number of people to realize that any losses to govt welfare they might risk by backing Paul, will be much more than made up for by his policies. paul would bring prosperity back to american homes. grats on iowa - we did amazing and earned the respect of the critics.

    RP8!

They are ALL members of treasonous Council on Foreign Relations and we MUST make people aware of that! Sign hanging is NOT f*cking enough! Write letters to editors IMMEDIATELY and say how unfair it is that media is trying to pick President for us and NOT let American sheeple make up their OWN minds! AND TALK RON UP WITH OTHERS TOO! HANGING F*CKING SIGNS OFF HIGHWAYS ARE NOT,NOT F*CKING ENOUGH! Write letters to editors, etc.! We MUST get the message of freedom, and saving our precious Constitution and bringing ALL our troops home and NOW!

Boycotting the channel will do nothing. A boycott of select FOX advertisers will help. Steering others away from those select products will also help. Choose them carefully (based on demographics, daily use, biggest impact, etc).

btw, the major networks excluding likely candidates is nothing new, you and I having this friendly conversation is.

STOP National Health Intelligence Network !!! (NHIN)

Clever terms used in the NHIN security report:

“We use the term “personal health information” rather than “protected health information” because the latter is a term of art in the Privacy Rule promulgated under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and we want to use a term not constrained by HIPAA coverage.

    Wake up America. STOP NHIN.

Oh yeah, something missed is US military serving overseas. The limited exposure service men and women receive is being is being counted on as a trump and is used to slander RP’s campaign in the worse way possible.

Most people have family members serving overseas, it might be worth letting them know what’s going on at home.

according to yahoo news, Ron Paul will be included in the debate at ABC after all. what I dont understand, is this:”The auditorium will be quickly emptied between debates and a new audience brought in.” basically, after the republican debates, the audience will be swaped out, and then the democrat debates will start…….kind of weird isn’t it?

    Ladies and Gentlemen,
The “civil war” was the end of the Constitution FOR the united States of America. Then came the Constitution OF the United States of Amsrica. Verbage in law has absolute meaning [notice upper and lower case U], one is a verb one is part of a title, completly different meanings in LAW [same with the words for & of]. History my friends compiles the facts and exposes the truth. We lost the Peoples Constitution FOR the united States of America /- 1883.
We can get it back without guns by: 1) Ron Paul 2) YOU seeking state office
The States MUST demand their rightful positions. And YOU the People are the ONLY ones that can make it happen.
NOW GET OFF YOUR BUTTS AND DO SOMETHING
