Olbermann is generally right on the mark with regard to GW Bush and his assault on the Constitution, the loss of our civil rights and the insanity of the war in Iraq, but he’s obviously been drinking prozac lased Koolaide from the Democrat water cooler. He needs to get a clue and understand the CFR shills like John Edwards are only throwing gasoline on the fire when they recommend “stimulus packages” that only delay the inevitable. Somebody wake the ghost of Edward R. Murrow before its too late and tell him to kick Olbermann in the ass.

  2. Where'sRonPaul? on January 24th, 2008

I had to ask, but why is there not one mention of Ron Paul? Sadly I know the answer and generally like what Mr. Olbermann has to say…but Sir, its time to
look at what Mr. Paul is saying on your show. Maybe if you have the nerve, get him ON your show..don’t make me write a special comment ;) Anyway, be safe folks.

  3. tom joad on January 24th, 2008

I like Keith, but this was mild. None of the packages are going to do any good. The underlying reasons like the federal reserve, and the way money works are not discussed. Yes I’d like to see Ron Paul on the show too. He doesn’t just scrach the surface, he cuts to the point like a surgeon with a knife.

  4. Ken Hall on January 24th, 2008

The Federal Reserve is the elephant in the room on the economy. Ron Paul is the only candidate prepared to tackle the Federal Reserve and have congress issue interest free money backed by real value.

ALL the other candidates will ignore the cause of the economic illness and pour billions then trillions of dollars into hiding the symptoms. Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate that is not already owned by the corporations that Olbermann criticises so much. Ron Paul has made over $22 million from small contributions averaging $100.00 each from ordinary Americans who are sick of the corporatocracy screwing them ever harder.

Come on Olbermann, you are SPOT ON ACCURATE about Bush and what ails America. But, so far, you have been woefully wrong about the cure.

    America needs a Doctor.

    Dr Ron Paul 2008.

  5. kayak 42 on January 24th, 2008

Please Keith Olbermann and all the kings men behind you a MSNBC do not
keep pretending that you know nothing about Dr. Ron Paul. A man who
spent 30 years studying the US economic problem and has real creative
solutions that will work. MSM / main stream media of which you are a part
is INSULTING THE AMERICAN VIEWER by abstaining from any mention of Ron
Paul when discussing US economy, Federal Reserve, recession, depression,
    the White House rogues, etc.

  6. TruthChampion on January 24th, 2008

Free up our markets, get back to honest and measurable money, then focus on private property.

Elect Ron Paul for your freedom and my family.

    In God We Trust.

  7. Brian on January 24th, 2008

The longer they keep rigging the market the worse this whole thing gets. Bush’s emergency plan will do alot of people no good at all!!! God Bless and good luck to all !!!! Ron Paul 4 Preident

  8. Richie Quack on January 24th, 2008

Olbermann is a bitch. I have no respect for him, for exactly the above stated reasons. He’s quick to smear Bush at every opportunity, but he “dun say sheeeeit” about Ron Paul, whether good, bad, or indifferent. He just abides by his neocon gatekeepers’ wishes and keeps his trap shut on the Ron Paul issue. He’s a shill just like Jon Stewart Leibowitz and all the other mainstream TV talking heads.

    Shame on you, Keith.

  9. Mark on January 24th, 2008

I’m looking out my window at work and up there in the sky - it’s a bird, it’s a plane, no it’s the Ron Paul blimp flying over the Daytona International Speedway! It’s a beautiful sight. And it’s one that many people have seen. And his message is getting out. Try as they might, the MSM will not be able to ignore him much longer.

To talk about the economy and actually try to say that John Edwards was the first one on the scene talking about the economy is utterly ridiculous. But you see, Olbermann is part of the MSM and would like to continue to be part of it. He knows that to play partison politics is one thing, to actually talk about the reality of the situation and go outside the “accepted” left/right paradigm is something that can get him in big trouble in a hurry. Keith knows that the powers that be don’t care if you mock and ridicule one administration or another. That’s what they’re there for. Remember, they are bird cage liner. Heap all the crap you want on them, it doesn’t matter. As long as a globalist NWO administration takes over where the last one left off, they could care less. They own both parties! Keith is just very articulate and is an outstanding commentator. He’s good at what he does and he wants to keep doing it for a long time to come. Whether he’s talking about the news or talking about football, it doesn’t matter. It’s all controlled by the same corporations that are totally in bed with this global neofascism movement that is bleeding this country dry.

I enjoy listening to Keith and his rants against the Bush administration but keep in mind, he’s never going to propose a solution that will get him in trouble with his MSM masters. Therefore, don’t look to Keith Olbermann to support the Ron Paul revolution, a new 9/11 investigation or any other REAL issue. He’s just a really good talking head on TV.

  10. Richie Quack on January 24th, 2008

    @ Mark:

    Very well said, sir.

  11. fightfortruth on January 24th, 2008

I agree with Richie Quack and Mark. I can’t stand Keith Olberman. I agree with him when it comes to Bush and he was the only commentator who talked about the Military Commisions act but he only tells half truths. Why won’t he talk about Ron Paul. Ron Paul is the only person talking about the loss of our liberties and has introduced bills to try and testore them but Keith won’t talk about that. He flat out refuses to talk about him. He is no better than any of the mdeia puppets out there. They are baught and paid for. I just wish that there was one of them who would stand up and tell the truth, just one.

  12. Marie on January 24th, 2008

Mark, thank you, for putting it all in perspective. I used to like Keith and his belligerent antics toward Bush and his feigned “rage against the machine” mentality. But, I have just had it with the ‘circus act’ we call our political process. But now, I realize there is no room for complacency. Whether Ron Paul gets the nomination or not, this REVOLUTION must continue!

  13. edisonoside on January 24th, 2008

Maybe Olbermann is thinking ahead on his career and wants to keep it. If Ron Paul wins Olbermann will have NOTHING to complain about.

    Comprehensive Economic Revitalization Plan

    Introduction

America became the greatest, most prosperous nation in human history through low taxes, constitutionally limited government, personal freedom and a belief in sound money. We need to return to these principles so our economy can thrive again. When enacted, my plan will provide both short-term stimulus and lay the groundwork for long-term prosperity.

Other candidates talk a lot about stimulus packages, but my record stands alone. I have fought for these measures for years as a member of Congress and will make them a top priority as president.

Ron Paul, a 10-term Republican Congressman from Texas’s 14th District, is currently the ranking member of the House Financial Services Committee’s Subcommittee on Domestic and International Monetary Policy, Trade, and Technology. He has been named “Taxpayers’ Best Friend” for 10 consecutive years by the National Taxpayers’ Union. Ron Paul is also the author of several books on monetary policy and economics.

    The Four-Point Plan

Tax Reform: Reduce the tax burden and eliminate taxes that punish investment and savings, including job-killing corporate taxes.
Spending Reform: Eliminate wasteful spending. Reduce overseas commitments. Freeze all non-defense, non-entitlement spending at current levels.
Monetary Policy Reform: Expand openness at the Federal Reserve and require the Fed to televise its meetings. Return value to our money.
Regulatory Reform: Repeal Sarbanes/Oxley regulations that push companies to seek capital outside of US markets. Stop restricting community banks from fostering local economic growth.

    1. Tax Reform

Eliminate Taxes on Dividends and Savings. The basis of capitalism is savings, and Americans who do so should be rewarded.
Pass HJ Res. 23 to encourage savings over consumption.

Repeal the Death Tax. Attacking small businesses and breaking up family farms smothers growth and kills jobs.
Pass H.R. 2734 to make the Bush tax cuts permanent.

Cut Taxes for Working Seniors. Grandmothers and grandfathers working to make ends meet should keep all the fruits of their labor.
Pass H.R. 191 to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to repeal the inclusion in gross income of Social Security benefits.

Eliminate Taxes on Social Security Benefits. That money belongs to seniors, not the government. They paid into the system for a lifetime, and they should be free to spend every penny as they see fit.
Pass H.R. 192 to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to repeal the 1993 increase in taxes on Social Security benefits.

Accelerate Depreciation on Investment. We need to help companies grow and create jobs.
Pass H.R. 4995 to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to reduce corporate marginal income tax rates.

Eliminate Taxes on Capital Gains. Investment should be embraced and rewarded.
Pass H.J. Res 23 (The “Liberty Amendment”), proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States relative to abolishing personal income, estate, and gift taxes and prohibiting the United States Government from engaging in business in competition with its citizens.

Eliminate Taxes on Tips. The single parents and working students who earn their income chiefly through tips deserve to keep all of their money. This tax on “estimated income” is unfair and should be ended.
Pass H.R. 3664 to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide that tips shall not be subject to income or employment taxes.

Support the Mortgage Cancellation Relief Act. Working families who lost their homes should not be punished a second time with a big IRS bill.
Pass H.R. 1876 to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to exclude from the gross income of individual taxpayers discharges of indebtedness attributable to certain forgiven residential mortgage obligations.

    2. Spending Reform

Reduce Overseas Military Commitments. Our bases and troops should be on our soil.
It’s time to stop subsidizing our trading partners in Europe, Japan and South Korea.

Freeze Non-Defense, Non-Entitlement Spending at Current Levels
I vote against all bloated, pork laden spending bills and will veto them as president.

    3. Monetary Policy Reform

Televise Federal Open Market Committee Meetings. An institution as powerful as the Federal Reserve deserves full public scrutiny.

Expand Transparency and Accountability at the Federal Reserve
Pass H.R. 2754 to require the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System to continue to make available to the public on a weekly basis information on the measure of the M3 monetary aggregate and its components.

Return Value to Our Money. Legalize gold and silver as a competing currency.
Level the long-term boom and bust business cycle by passing H.R. 4683, which would repeal provisions of the federal criminal code relating to issuing coins of gold, silver, or other metal for use as current money and making or possessing likenesses of such coins.

    4. Regulatory Reform

Repeal Sarbanes/Oxley. It has seriously wounded our capital markets and helped make the UK a financial center at our expense.
Ending these misguided regulations would bring jobs flooding back to the United States

Pass H.R. 1049 to reform Sarbanes-Oxley and reduce the burden it places on small businesses.

Repeal or Remove Costly and Unnecessary Federal Regulations. Neighbors know best how to help their neighbors.
We need to make it easier for community banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions to better serve their communities and to help people in these communities get access to credit and capital.
Pass H.R. 1869 to enhance the ability of community banks to foster economic growth and serve their communities, boost small businesses, increase individual savings, and for other purposes.
